Outsiders qualify for final!
The outcome of the group matches has already made a dramatic pre decision
|
According to the schedule given by CAF it is now clear that only one of the four big tournament favorites, Cameroon or Nigeria or Tunisia or Senegal can reach the final.
The other finalists will either be Morocco or Algeria or Mali or Guinea.
The reason is the outcome of the group matches in which two of the 'big ones' finished only second and it came out to be the way that not only Cameroon - Nigeria and Tunisia - Senegal will meet each other in the quarter finals but that the winners will play each other in the semi final.
So the final will definitively be played between an outsider and one of the big four but not between two of them.
So it seems also sure that in media at least two favorites will get criticised and the outsiders getting hailed although that big ones will never have had the chance to play a knock out match against the others to prove they are better. Tough luck for the coaches...
