Record Breakers
Phenomenal African soccer : Cameroon, Nigeria, Egypt
|
It is no doubt that the three giants of African Soccer, who hold the legacy and burden of taking soccer to new heights are Cameroon, Nigeria and Egypt in that order.
We are proud of Senegal for their representation at the world cup 2002 but they have become complascent and returned to laclustre performance especially at the Nations Cup tournament just two years after the spark. South Africa may improve to new heights if they could stop trying to adopt the "European System" and stick to what they know better and can handle. What is the deal with changing the squad by the hour???
While Nigeria, may not be off to a good start, they are the most underacheived African giant: their trophies are far lest than their talent. They deserve more than a spasm of respect in accomplishments... I mean look at the squad!
Egypt may well be #1 in team play- 2nd to none other but they are a little lacking in terms of individual skills... their one-to-one display is not quite the glory but as a group they can take any other African team to school!
Finally the indomitable lions. Cameroon no doubt is the phenomenon of the propagation of African soccer... but what is the deal with their defence???? They had the best defence a year ago but that is under serious recosideration provided the performance thus far at the Nation's Cup. We hope after their record breaking 3 in a row they remain humble enough to properly represent us in World Cup 2006.
Team worth singing praises to: Rwanda. We all know how much they have endured to earn such a previlege. We applaud them.
